Amber Palace

Amber Palace
The Amber Palace (or Amer Fort) is a magnificent palace complex located in Amer, a town near Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Amber city and Amber fort were founded by ruler Alan Singh Chanda of Chanda dynasty of Meenas. Amer Fort is known for its artistic style elements.

Raja Man Singh I originally built the fort in 1592. Successive rulers expanded and renovated the fort over the next 150 years. It served as the capital of the Kachwaha Rajputs before Jaipur became the new capital in the 18th century. The palace was the residence of the Rajput Maharajas and their families.
